Greetings! By now you may have already had a peek at the latest wonderful issue of Jewish Fiction .net. Our sixth issue features an excerpt from the first-ever translation into English of a renowned novella by Agnon, four other important first-time translations from Hebrew, Russian, and Romanian, and eight exceptional works of fiction written in English, coming from Australia, Canada, and the United States. We hope you enjoy this new issue as much as the previous ones, and that over the past year you have been entertained, moved, and intrigued by the stories you have read in our journal. Perhaps you remember reading a story or novel excerpt that captivated you with its character or plot, opened your eyes to the diversity of Jewish experience, or stunned you with an insight into the human condition.

In our first 17 months, Jewish Fiction .net has published 77 first-rate stories or novel excerpts that had never previously appeared in English, and that were written in eight languages and on five continents. Unforgettable fiction by such literary luminaries as S.Y. Agnon, Elie Wiesel, Chava Rosenfarb, Norman Manea. Grigory Kanovich, Nava Semel, Yoram Kaniuk, Judith Rotem, Steve Stern, Nessa Rapoport, Aharon Megged, Orly Castel-Bloom, George Jonas, Yehoshue Perle, Clive Sinclair, Savyon Liebrecht, Marcelo Birmajer, Gabriel Josipovici, and Natan Zach, as well as a host of new, exciting, lesser-known writers.

In our first 17 months, there have been over 20,000 visits to our website from people like you in 83 countries, who have come to Jewish Fiction .net to read terrific Jewish stories from all around the world.

We have been told that there is nothing else on the internet or in print like what we offer (a journal devoted exclusively to Jewish fiction), and we are proud of that. You can play an important role in helping to ensure the future of this journal so that many more people like you can enjoy it. For a quarterly online journal of this caliber, you might easily be expected to pay $36-$40 annually (which would work out to less than $1 per story!). If you care about the Jewish literature of today and tomorrow, please take a moment to consider making a gift of at least this amount to Jewish Fiction .net. To help you receive a tax deduction for your contribution in either Canada or the U.S., we have established relationships with registered charities in both these countries. To make an American or Canadian donation now, or a donation from any other country, please visit our donation page.

If you are able to make a gift of $100 or more, we would like to thank you by posting your name on our website. (Of course you may remain anonymous, if you wish.) We thank you in advance for your generosity.
